I think hes fine with you, but be sure to get him checked at the vet for any signs of illnesses or anything else...If they say you can keep him ask them for rat formula to keep the little guy well fed if he isn't old enough to eat solids....It can be a risk of whatever you do especacially if you release him into the wild he will not be able to survive on his own and there are vicious predators and if you live in a place full of snakes that increases the danger...I would suggest just to go to the vet monthly that is only for checkups because mice/rats have very big amount of dieases...Good Luck!!!=)

This depends. When you say putting your self at risk, it is very well possible the mouse is carrieing a disease. If the mouse is already dependent on you for finding food and water, and he is adapted to the food you are feeding him, suddenly releasing him into the wild can kill him. He won't know how to defend himself from predators, or find his own food, water, and shelter. Your best bet would be to bring the mouse to a vets office and explain your situation. They will gladly take him and either raise him, or adapt him to living in the wild. I highly doubt they would charge you.
I hope i helped answer your question.

You are not at risk. If he is a pet mouse he can't crawl through stuff that would cause him to carry a disease. I found a baby mouse once too. My sister and I fed him milk with an eyedropper. Everything was great until our mom found it. Anyway, you are fine. Don't worry, your good deed is not putting you in any danger. I don't think.

take him to the vet to be checked over. i don't think that you are putting yourself at risk though. things that adult wild mice can carry usually will kill a baby mouse. if he was a pet that was abandoned outside then most of them usually have an immunity to most of those things because of the breeding.

I once nursed a bat with a broken wing back to health. The vet freaked out, said I was gonna get rabies. Never happened. Just try not to get bitten, regardless. I think at this point your biggest worry is fleas - but if he's a baby then it's doubtful. Cheers!

Hmm...I'd bring him to your vet or at least give them a call and ask about possible risks. It's good that you're taking care of the poor thing. God Bless!

you are putting you and your friends at risk for diseases like rhabdovirus, Adenovirus. Herpesvirus,Papovavirus ,polyomavirus. Parvovirus Poxvirus
Arenavirus
Arterivirus
Coronavirus
Paramyxovirus
Picornavirus
Reovirus
Retrovirus
it does not matter how old your mouse is, all diseases are passed down from parents. it is best to A let him go, B take him to a vet to get checked out, C take him to a humane society so they can take care of him. even if he dies if you let him go, you still are better off, anyone who enters your house, or gets near you or anything you own that you have touched is at risk for all these diseases. be wise, take care!

Hmmm...I would tell you what I would do, but people might get mad. Just try to think about that 'cute' little mouse getting loose in your room and chewing all the wires and bulding nests in places that will cause problems. We had a boat in our backyard and some rats moved into it. After winter was over it took us all summer to clean and repair it. Total damage was over $1000. We found a nest of babies in it, and as cute as they were we had to get rid of them.
