I have listened to R&B, Gospel, and Rap all of my life, but now I am starting to get into rock. What are some good bands or songs.

Fall Out Boy, The Hush Sound, Shiny Toy Guns, Death Cab for Cutie.
For soft rock songs, I personally really like the following by Fall Out Boy:
-"Grand Theft Autumn/Where is your boy"
-"The Take Over, The Breaks Over"
-"Don't you know who I think I am?"
-"The (After) Life of the Party"
-"I've got all this ringing in my ears and none on my fingers"
And the following by Death Cab for Cutie:
-"I will follow you into the dark:
-"Soul meets body"
-"Marching bands of Manhattan"
Also, practically every song by The Hush Sound is pretty soft, so...
Another good soft rock song is "It ends tonight" by the All-American Rejects. Oh yes! Coldplay is great too! The Feeling is another great Brit band that you might enjoy...
Eh, just some of my faves. I think these are pretty soft. Enjoy your newfound taste in rock!

hm...never really heard of "soft rock", but I think Death From Above 1979 might fit the description. I recently was introduced to their music, and am currently in love with the band. I love their songs Blood On Our Hands, Black History Month, Romantic Rights, Little Girl, and...well, just check those out for starters. You might want to try Fall Out Boy, too. Check out their new album, Infinity On High. and try Ok Go. Good luck with your search!!

Traveling Wilbury's is my favorite Band. George Harrison, Tom Petty, Roy Orbison, Bob Dylan, Jeff Lynn of ELO. What is not to like. Check them out. They have one of the greatest albums of all time.

Well, this is Pop/Rock.. but alot of people listen to the Jonas Brothers. They say that they are a great band.

If you want some melody in your rock listen to "Nightwish" too. LP and evanescence are good, but i like nightwish too.
