First of all I was on alesse (birth control) to help regulate my cycle. Well instead of helping me, it's harming me terribly. I have been bleeding for a little over 2 weeks.

My doc. put me on provera and i'm still bleeding. I have NOT taken it at the same time each day. Why am I still bleeding? What could possibly be wrong with me?

I need help i'm soooo hopeless!

If you have been loosing blood for this length of time and your regular doctor is not doing anything about that----- get another doctor immediately !! Something is seriously wrong with a doctor that allows a patient to be loosing blood for this length of time--- and there is serious doubts as to why they haven't changed the procedures for you with this kind of results !! Another doctor will immediately see the need to go to square one--- which is to stop the bleeding-- at the expense of ANYTHING ELSE THAT IS GOING ON HERE !!!

There are other types of pills, the Depo-Provera shot (which often stops periods) and other, non-hormonal birth control methods that you could try using. Be cautious about the IUD. If you have never given birth, you are more likely to have problems with it (I did).

I don't think anything is 'wrong' with you. I think that you just haven't found the right birth control method yet.

Give your doc a call, and try to take the provera at the same time each day while you're still on it. Hopefully you can make an appointment to discuss your contraceptive options.

The pill should have stopped the bleeding in three days. If you are going to a general Practitioner DR. I would make an appointment with a local OB/GYN. I prefer women OB/gyn and offices that have professional midwifes are really great at troubleshooting bleeding.

find another Dr...you aren't bleeding to death. You probably shouldn't be on either, birth control OR provera....(have them check for fibroids...)
