Its more what they dont get paid in their annual salary that matters.

All amounts I give are yearly and do not include perks, which can be studied on the links I supply in the "sources" section below.
President: currently $400,000 in straight money. George Washington made $25,000. They also receive many, many
other perks. The President is the highest paid member of U.S. government. So no one makes more than that.
Supreme Court Judge: $173,600.
House of Representatives/Senate member: $165,200.
The Speaker of the House: $212,100
Majority and Minority Leaders: $183,500.
Cabinet Member: $180,100.
Considering that most of these people are millionaires before they ever join the government, I don't think the do it for the salary. Must be the perks?

House and Senate make about $165,000 per year. Current salary for the Chief Justice is around $202,900 per year, while Associate Justices make about $194,200.
President makes $400,000 and those in the cabinet make $171,000 (in 2003. Don't know the last 3 raises)
Link below shows the salaries from 1789 to present.

ABC information characterised public consensus on Clinton as, "you won't be able to believe him, he's were given susceptible morals and ethics – and he's executed a heck of a superior pastime.Clinton's sixty six% Gallup pollapproval score became also the optimal Gallup approval score of any postwar President leaving place of work, 3 factors previous to Reagan.
