It's not just a black white issue is it? I believe that the South was treating the Indians better than the North was. And let's not forget their home, Oklahoma, was taken from them as punishment for fighting for the South.

Hmmm.. I'm all for a good North/South debate as much as the next Texan, but don't the indians still own parts of Oklahoma where there is much gaming and sticking it to the white man to be done?

The War was not about slavery, you don't fight a war for 18 months, then decide what you are fighting it for, as a southerner , i am amazed at the people that eat all that crap up about the civil war was about slavery, let me give you some facts, the Yankee soldiers killed as many as 50,000 innocent civilians, including slaves during the war, if you lived in the South, after the war, black or white, you paid for it, the North deliberately held federal funds from the south from 1866 to 1950, for example in 1867 the state of Georgia received like $13,000 from the federal government, while the state of Michigan received 14 million, the South has been held back in all aspects of life, education, health care, economy, what the south has today, is the result of hard working BLACK AND WHITE people working together to make to make it. if anyone has a problem with a flag it should be the American Flag, GOD BLESS DIXIE

I don't see Native Americans rallying around the Confederate flag.

Native Americans formed a relatively small part of the total number of troops in the Civil War. Aside from the Confederate Brigadier Gen. Stand Watie and his troops, there weren't very many Native Americans at all.

Isn't it pretty much time to retire the Confederate flag? They lost. The north handed it to them. Why do Southerners continue to rally behind this losing cause? Why doesn't Mississippi change its state flag to one which reads "highest illiteracy rate in the nation."

Well I am going to say something unpopular here..It does not mean that it changes anything...but just want to get the facts straight. #1 the stars and bars only represent the southern states....Others without a brain cell assigns it to slavery. So now lets take a trip back to the beaches of Africa. It was at these beaches that many Africans were sold into slavery, and they were sold by their own race/color who bought them......the French bought them, and the French brought them to the US, to what....be sold into slavery here.....who sold them to us.......the French bought, brought, & sold slaves.
Unfortunantly, back then it was believed that this was a good thing....even though we know now that owning a human is illegal.....but the early settlers here, believed everything that the French man said. Sure the south had a past that it is now ashamed of.....but was it all the southern's fault.....no, you need to go back to the coast of africa.....to the ones on the beaches there that sold those men women and children to the French. The southerns mistakenly bought into the idea that the French man sold him on. So when ever you feel like attacking the white southern man....take a moment and think back to who it was that captured and sold your ancestors in the first place. It was not the white man......So now you can attack me....report me ....whatever!

The Rebel flag represents the treason of the southern states failed coup against the USA.

The only country in the world where you can attempt a coup and celebrate it for years afterward. How many Union soldiers died defeating the treason of the south? Lets celebrate the thousands of family lineages that were destroyed during the coup. What sense does that make?

The left just wants more censorship under the "that hurts my feelings banner of pc correctness." 3

They are the real racists.

Conservatives and Republicans don't even have to ask the question. Is the country ready for _________? Because we don't think ________ has anything to do with leadership.
