I just bought my 02 Silverado 4x4 without keyless remote. I don't know if the factory alarm is disabled or If I just need to get the remote. Will buying a remote from ebay work on my truck if I program it? What can I do?

instructions on programming are in your owner manual. Knowing the vehicle has the keyless option can be known by calling a dealer with your VIN number and asking their parts department . The key fobs run about 45 dollars. Unless you pay by credit card and have an honest and fair seller from ebay you could get burned, so be careful. Be sure the one that you are buying is specifically for your make and model.

I suppose you could do that, but I would recommend you go to the dealer.
