People are comfortable with familiar things.....with what they know. A lot of people aren't open to change, or to learning something new. If they never heard of something, it must be wrong. For example, religion. Certain people of one religion bash people of another religion, because they didn't grow up with those beliefs...therefore, they are wrong.
