I'm thinking about buying home recording software for my computer. I have an SB X-Fi Audio [8000] Xtreme Music Soundcard but there is no input jack on the soundcard. I've been looking for adapters for awhile now and still no luck. Does anyone have any information on where I can find an adapter to plug my guitar into my computer?

Radio shack and any electronic or music store can help you with that. You need a 1/4 Y with a male stereo input. The y have MILLIONS of them.
If you want to sound real good get a mixer for about $100 to $150 =http://www.americanmusical.com/sort--s-behringer-mixers-8-track.html
That's a dam good sound card it's better than mine.

it rather is not the cable which will impression the sound, it rather is the preamp which you will ought to get. Assuming you like the sound of a tube preamplifier, there are a sort of preamps on the marketplace that may grant that sound. some use real vacuum tube amplifiers, and others use solid state circuits that emulate the non-linearity of a tube amp. the charges variety everywhere in the map, yet once you do not care approximately getting that "tube amp" sound, there are some extremely affordable guitar preamps available. in basic terms plug your guitar in, and connect the line Out of the amp to the line In of your sound card, set the applying mixer controls and your guitar would be related on your pc. BTW, just about any cable will do - yet once you get gold plated connectors, it rather is concerning the main you like. IOW, do not spend an excellent variety of $$ for those particular "oxygen unfastened", "low capacitance", "burned in", "blessed by way of the Bishop" cables made by way of that corporation with the call that means a gruesome creature.
