hi foxyhdgrl! sure, they make kits for replacing ur ipod battery - go to this site and click on the model of ur ipod: http://www.ipodjuice.com/

ur gonna pay approx $20-$30 plus shipping depending on ur ipod model, so maybe the $60 for apple to do it isn't so bad. but the benefit of doing it urself is u do not have to send it away to apple and wait and wait for it to be returned.

while u figure out ur battery replacement solution, please subscribe to my FREE video podcast on iTunes: http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=183309259
