Amelie is my favorite movie period.

I love French films and especially Audrey Tautou.
Happenstance, He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not
oh and of course the movie Auvoir Les Enfants. That last one just broke my heart!

Thanks for the suggestions.

I watch anything that's supposed to be any good, regardless of where it's from. There is something of a natural filtering process for foreign language movies that means they tend to have to be at least half decent to get distributed outside of their own country as they can't just rely on having recognisable actors. It's highly recommended for any horror movie that has since been remade in America, as the originals have a habit of being better.

I liked Cinema Paradiso, too. Also "Il Postino," Life is Beautiul.

My all time favorite was Cyrano de Bergerac with Gerard DePardieu. I thought his choice to play the soldier rather than the poet was very powerful.

I have seen a few foreign films! I most enjoy Chinese and Japanese cinema however! My favorite foreign film maker is Akira Kurosawa, who has directed such masterpieces as "The Seven Samurai", "Red Beard" and "Rashamon" to name a few. He inspired men like George Lucas and Stephen Speilberg. He was a film genius and is a cinema legend!
