For the past 2 1/2 weeks now.. I have had such an increase in my bowel movements.. Not always loose and never really constipated.. Its driving me absolutly crazyy!!! I wont even feel like i have to go, but everytime i go to the bathroom i go! Sorry this is sooo open and personal.. But is it normal to have it this much? im talking @least 4 times a day.. before i became pregnant i was lucky if i could once a week!! So im not used to this at all.. I know they say your body cleans itself out towards the end your pregnancy... But its been 2 and a half weeks! how much more can it clean out!
Haha Please no rude comments!!

This is perfectly normal. Yes, the body is cleansing itself before delivery but the other thing to consider is that you have seven or eight pounds of baby, plus the placenta, plus the bag of water that all this sits in and it's crowding your entire abdomen. You probably can't tuck away a huge meal any more, either, because there just isn't much room in there. Same thing with defecation. Your bowels are being compressed by the mass and weight of the baby, so they can not retain fecal matter as the once did.
Not to worry, it's perfectly natural and you'll be back to normal before very long.

Yes, It is very normal. Even when you are not pregnant, you chould be going to the "bathroom" at least once a day. If it persist for another week go to your doctor and check it out if you are really concerned about it. I don't think it is something to worry about though. Hope my answer helps you out!
-Oh Yea! Congrats!-

Any changes in your body right now, especially this late in the game, are signs of pre-labour.
Don't get your hopes up though, pre-labour symptoms can last for 2 or more weeks.
Your body is just getting prepared for the big day, ridding your body of toxins and any waste that'll make it easier to push the baby out.
Good luck with you birth and new baby!

HI,
4 times sounds a bit excessive. But it depends on how mcuh is coming out. Could add up to one complete one. (sorry it this sounds yukky)
Once a week is not good either. You should go at least once a day.

OMG im 30 weeks and i have noticed this too! glad im not the only one! i think that the baby is putting pressure on the colon and they are not able to evacuate as fully as before we were pregnant so we are going more often to make up for it! good luck and congrats!

I'm right there with you...except I'm in my seventh month and this has been going on for about 2 months. All I have to say is...thank God!!! There is nothing worse than being constipated and pregnant!!!

Girl i dont remember!but i know when i was in labor i told them to give me the bed pan NOW!!lol.I had heard it felt like you needed to crap and its really true. But they made me hold it.It your baby pushing on everything inside you that gives the same sensation as when you do #2.So all i can say is that you are pretty close so dont be pushing to hard.Good luck!

I've heard of this happening during AND after pregnancy. KEEP HYDRATED! If it last moths after pregnancy, I'd go to the doctor. My mom actually had this happen after pregnancy.
