Question about the movie "IT".....?

You know the part where the kids go down in the sewer to kill pennywise? What exactly is the light? And when the kids all bend down when the light comes, you see a wierd snake belly looking thing..is that supposed to be the spider?

The lights are the "dead lights". I think they trap your mind.
The spider is (according to the book) nor really a spider. It only appears that way because peoples' minds can't grasp how IT really looks. The book explains it much better 'cause there's no time frame as there is for the movie
