Detroit went on a leaving the city rampage when then Mayor Archer signed the bill to allow firemen and police to be able to NOT have to live in the city limits

It was a HUGE mistake

Dude, check the population and cost of housing stats. Detroit is a city in major trouble... there have been auctions in Detroit for whole city blocks at a time, because so many houses were being abandoned. On the other hand, Atlanta is up and growing. Houses will cost you a lot less in Detroit, but there is a good reason for that.
I assume all these factors play into what kind of people gravitate toward each one of these cities.

Depends on what your "terms" are. Atlanta has the southern feel and hospitality to an extent. My understanding is people have been moving out of Detroit for a decade. If so, must be a reason.

Being a current resident of the Atlanta Area and a former resident of the Detroit Area, I would say that that people in Atlanta are better when it comes to hospitality but people who want to get to know you for who you are I would say Detroit.

I have lived near Detroit as I am a Michigan native and I have been to and through Atlanta also.....I think I would choose Atlanta. I liked the outskirts...Douglasville was very nice area.
