Feelings are transient; they ebb and flow. It is best not to make decisions based on feelings for the very reason that they are so ephemeral. I am not talking about clinical depression here, but rather the every day ups and downs we all have. Feelings result from how we think and how we behave...if you don't like how you are feeling, change the way you are thinking and behaving and your feelings will change. If you like the way you are feeling, keep thinking and doing what you're doing. People get really stuck when they want to keep thinking and doing the same thing but want to feel differently. Sorry, it just doesn't work that way.

You should first accept your feelings for what they are. You can not control feelings. You can only control actions. Through your actions you may find that your feelings change. Example, say you don't like me, but we work together and so you just have to accept that I will be there everyday so you decide to make the most of the situation-- you begin to talk to me and realize after some time has passed, that I am not a bad person as you originally thought and your feelings change. That is the practical way to approach this problem. Just this past year I had a life altering experience, open heart surgery, I was banging heads with my daughter's boyfriend. I made the decision when I realized I was going to survive that life is just too short tobe fighting with someone over nonsense and besides that my daughter was going to stay with this guy whether i liked him or not. I simply apologized to him and started over. Life got easier for everyone involved when I stopped complaining about him all the time. You can change your feelings but you have to change your actions first and the feelings will automatically change - good luck to you -k-

There's no suck thing as a bad or wrong feeling, but there are bad ways of dealing with them. Feelings are what make us human, without them we're just robots. If you're feeling something, you're feeling it for a reason, one which may not be apparant to you at the moment. Strong emotions are like physical pain for the soul, they force you to deal with things?

I would say you can't control what you feel, so you just have to accept them for what they are.

i might be wrong...but i believe that you can't control your feelings....i mean no matter how hard i tried to change my feelings or attitude towards certain things or people, i can't make it!....so yes, i think we should accept them for waht they are because they're part of our personality...the part that we can't change...i think!
