Whats up with england?

how england played was really sad. i caught the england u21 game earlier and it was exciting like hell. but the seniors? come on, lampard was like a shadow. it was like he wasnt even there. and lennon goes off? he was the only player that created the chances. as an england fan im really dissapointed.

The problem with the English team is that Lampard and Gerrard, who are absolutely fantastic players in their team, Chelsea and Liverpool, don't really work with each other. Also, the way that Lampard sends a cross to his teammates isn't really accurate and dangerous, unlike Beckham's. I also think Rooney's inability to score more is hurting the team a lot. Their defense is fine. I mean, they've got Neville, Ferdinand, Cole, and many other great players. But the team needs some major improvement on the midfield and forward.

Poor coach and no Leader on the pitch like all good teams have. They all seem to be too scared they may tread on another "superstar's" toes if they assume the lead. Lampard and Gerrard doesnt work so drop Lampard and build the team around Gerrard. He has all the qualities and the others will respond. By the way I am not a Liverpool fan.

Look me you and half the population of the Uk could pick the 11 best players in England.Surely it is about time that the penny droped that 11 star players dont make a good team,lets get a new manager who can build a team,keep a few stars Terry,Gerrard Rooney then build a team around them,our team is like the Real Madrid galecticoes and what did they win.

Well you should be and be more desperate when you see you England team in the near future.... I thought WRooney and AJohnson would be good but even the players linked by Everton have not shown anything, apart form Carragher's effort crashing over the bar
In the end it is 2 more points lost against 1 point earned by Israël!

I think instead of blaming the players it should be the manger who should take all the heat
the tactics he used were really stupid
He should have started with lennon and downing instead
he should not have taken off Andy Johnson
he should have played Gareth Barry at LB
Mclaren should be sacked
I think Erickson was a far better manager than steve mclaren

problem is the England has been riding the hype train for too many years...


they simply cannot keep up with mediocre teams, let alone front runners.. you want to change the team.. you have to start at the core... stop hyping players whom suck the big bag of you know what, and get some real quality people in there.. otherwise, England football team will continue to ride the train, but this train will be heading straight into the gutter...

which means ....they will not qualify for any international tournaments any time soon.

Too many players are relying on their reputation to keep their place rather than their current form. Just like Beckham was supposedly doing. Mclaren said that he was going to pick players on form not rep. so why is Rooney and co still playing. Blood the young stars coming through before it is too late. Why call up Nugent if he has no intention of playing him... Just like Sven with Walcott!!!

i am in the same position too i mean all these great players especially in midfield like lampard gerrald and personally i admire hangreaves but they dont play good! why?????????
