My husband burns DVD's and says that it takes the full time that the movie runs to copy it to another DVD. It seems to me there should be a quicker way. Any ideas, thoughts?

The computer CPU and speed of DVDR drive and hard drive speed can all be factors on determining speed, also memory.

The computer I have can burn a movie in about 10 minutes to 15 minutes, that is the complete burn.

This is a complete list from making a backup copy of your movies all the way to printing a cover sheet for your dvd case. If you need to know where to get cheap dvd cases like those at your local blockbuster send me a e-mail. I know some folks do not trust some sites due to all the junk spyware out there and virus stuff. But look at my answer history, you will see that I can be trusted. D/load the free protection I recomend. I trust the programs I mention below and use them. I also believe in try before you buy.

I have no idea about copying, but when it comes to burning something I've made, that seems about right. I've had it take half an hour for a ten minute movie I made.

I guess it really depends on transcoding. If he's copying professional DVDs (like from Blockbuster or whatever), you'd have to decode and whanot, but if you're copying something that you burned yourself (like something you've already copied from Blockbuster or your own movies) then you should be able to do it in like five minutes. Any lengthy burn is because it needs the time to transcode the video and audio and decode and configure what's on the DVD you're trying to copy.

If that made any sense, I'll be surprised. Hope I helped.

Oh, try Nero for burning DVDs. Good program.
