I use Dawn dishsoap (the plain old blue stuff) for everything. I do not even buy anything else anymore. I douse the stain with it (if it is a bad stain) and let it dry overnight of for 24 hours, then wash... if it is really tough, scrub it with a toothbrush and then wash... I soak clothes in it all the time in the sink also.....

never dry things until you know the stain is gone, it sets in the stain worse.

My kids are rough on clothing, and i use it for grass stains, blood, salsa and everything.. even if they dump it into the hamper for days before I find it, it works! It also takes out grease stains really well.

Pretreat the spot on the tablecloth for at least an hour with hydrogen peroxide. Before putting in the washer, rinse out the peroxide and rub clear dish soap into the stain. Throw into the washer (cold water wash and rinse) and voila! Stain's gone. Using bleach more than once can cause your bright white table cloth to look drab or yellowish in color.

Yikes, don't put BLUE detergent on a stain and let it sit overnight. You might end up with a blue stain instead of a coffee stain. Use dye-free detergents for pretreating.

White vinegar works best. Don't use bleach, it has a tendency to berak down the fibers as well as removing the stain.
