Okay, does anyone know what the term is for when you switch the first syllables of two words, such as fareboot instead of barefoot? Thanks for your help

That must be some kind of slang game or something. That is not a real literary tool. In any case, if it were, that's not switching syllables, but the first letters of syllables. Sorry I couldn't offer anything more than to tell you it's made-up.
