she is actually afraid that if the boss lady keeps APPYLING pressure, and wha tnot- she my end up saying soething she'l regret, or even quit.

What would be a nice way for her to say something to the boss- that she's had enough- without getting fired, or all fired up.

(She doesn't want to get herself fired up either)

I don't think there's anything anyone CAN say..is there? She probably justnees to forget about it, right?

It depends on what the boss is actually doing. It may be as simple as having your friend say somethign to the boss like, "I really want to be successful here, and I've noticed that you seem unhappy with my work. Please let me know if I'm doing something wrong so that I can meet your performance expectations." It will be up to her to determine if those expectations are reasonable once the boss shares them.

If the boss is harassing or discriminating against your friend, that is a different matter and needs to be taken up with your HR departrment or local labor board.

Mel has the right approach. But instead of haveing a friend or co-worker approach the boss - it should be your friend that makes her own approach. That is the professional way to do it.
