I worked for them in the 80's and want to write about that. A friend who worked for them in the 90's said she had to sign an agreement not to write about P.O. I don't remember signing anything, but maybe I did. What could happen to me if I write about it?

Nothing, write away! The only time this doesn't apply is if you disclose classified information.

I think you are protected by the 1st amendment. The only exceptions to writing about your work in a govt agancy are places like the CIA where there are national security issues. I don't see how the USPS could possibly claim that that applied.

Why don't you write an essay about the people who are afraid to do anything and have to ask the opinions of people on Yahoo for approval.

No, but it's wise not to mail it, in case the stamp falls off or the envelope... or suffers unfortunate damage during handling ... or maybe gets accidentally routed through Burundi ;)
