I like to sew. I sew baby bibs and toddler nap mats. I also make fleece baby blankets. I've made these for my children and wonder if I made a bunch (as it is easy for me and very inexpensive to make) would people buy these items at a local consignment sale?

I don't know what area you are from, but my friend makes some of the same things you do, and like you first made them for her kids and now grandkids. She doesn't have much luck with consignment stores..but does really well at craft fairs, especially in the fall months. She also makes sure that she puts her business card in with each purchase that has her website address, plus she always gives her most popular item as a baby gift to any new mom who's babyshower she attends. She has seen sales grow as a result of this and now makes more through her website than she does at the Craft fairs. But the people who attend the craft fairs look for her each year.

None of the consignment shops in my area will accept handmade items. I don't know how it is in other areas, but they were adamant about it here. I'd say, make up a bunch and try a local flea market or online business. You may have better luck that way.

There is no reason they wouldn't sell if they are made well and perhaps you sell them as a set as well as individually. Look on ebay for the prices for such items and follow a couple of the auctions to completion to see how well they sell.

Also , I would ask someone else who might do something similar or go to consignment store and have a couple as ask people what they think.

Good luck!

If you leave anything on consignment long enough it will sell. The owner will usually tell you what they think. If the C- shop doesn't work, tryto gear up for a craft fair or two. Good Luck

show photos of your items to a consignment shop before you jump in.

most of the other people have good ideas, but you could also advertise them on a piece of paper in places like the post office, grocery stores, where you can put ads up on the bullentin boards
