What's wrong with marrying a widow with a kid? If he loves her and the child, then what a wonderful thing to do. Her age doesn't matter either. What matters is how she treats him, how they love each other, etc. It's great that he feels he can talk to you, you need to be supportive.

What ideas are you looking for? I guess I am confused about what you are asking because you didn't say reason you feel your friend shouldn't be with this person. Is there more to the story here? The reason I am asking is you make it seems as if the woman is not good for him. I see nothing wrong with your friend wanting to marry a widow with a 4 year old child. Why are you so speechless? Did he just meet her or something? I am not sure if there's more to the story but I see nothing at all wrong with it. If they are two people in love and wants to spend their lives together, than you should support him.

What are the ages of you and the persons involved (your friend and his girlfriend)? I asked this question because it appears that you all are very young. I see nothing wrong with your friend wanting to marry a widow, who is older with a child. What problem do you have with this? I guess I am confuse about what ideas you are looking for. Did you mean to say suggestions instead of ideas?

What's wrong with her being a widow and having a 4 year old child? What kind of advise is he looking for? If he loves her, accept her child and wants to be a part of their lives, then what is the problem?

So he's attracted to a girl with a 4 year old girl. I married a woman with 4 kids and if someone thinks I did this to rape them they're pretty lame, not just lame--supid!! I would never rape a child. The girl who said that, Jessica, is full of crap and needs her head examined. If he loves someone what's the big deal?

Ask him if he loves her, and if he can commit to her child and her for the rest of her life. Age means nothing, so forget about the difference. If he has any doubts at all, tell him to wait a while more to be sure that she is the one he really truly loves. Sure, she has a past... and don't many of us also? As long as she loves him and he loves her, tell him to marry her. She and her kid could be greatest thing that's ever happened to him!

Just be a good listener and friend to him and tell him to follow his heart on this one. How long have they been seeing each other if i may ask... Tell him to make sure he knows her really well and gets to know the child as well. Age does not really matter here as long as they are both right for each other. I wish them both the best with this. Tell him to just make sure he is ready for marriage and that she is the right one for him before marrying and to marry for the right reasons. Does he love her?

You ask if he loves her and wants a life with her. Then you support him whatever the answer.

Good luck :)

P.S.
Jessica, Geez...turn off Faux news, not every person who wants to marry someone with a child has bad intentions. I didn't even see that part of the question as the "big" deal....

Dont advise him.

Just give him some time and ask him some questions such as:

Are you concerned about being a oarent?
Do you think th age difference will be a problem?
How do you feel about the age gap?
Have you introduced her to your friends and family?

You can probably think of a few other questions.
