Do you believe a cell phone would work in a casket 6 ft. under-ground? If so, would it be considered a long distance call?
It might be a good idea to take a phone with you in case 1. They buried you while you were still alive though they said you were dead; 2. If you cross over to the other side, you can let us know what its like, then it would be a long distance call.

Whats the logic behind not having an open casket ceremony at the grave site before lowering the casket into the ground (at least in California)?

well, back in the day, when they dug the holes with shovels, they didn't want to spend too much time on any one hole, so they found the shalowest they could dig a grave, and still not have it wash away or raise up with the dirt cycles. this turned out to be 6 feet, and after they started doing it for a while, people made superstitions and legends to follow it, as with anything... now, a cell phone works through dirt (seriously, like 30 feet of it) but, if the soil has a high iron content, or is all clay, there is a good chance it couldn't receive a signal, and 6 feet away is no where near long distance.

First of all, when you go to Heaven, ( not all of us will) you are not a physical body and you cannot take earthly things with you. Second, I'm sure they would know you were dead from the smell and the look of you at your open casket.
Three, of all the things to be buried with, why a cell phone?
Don't go into anything related to customer service. Stay away from people and you will be fine. Your idea about the prisoners going into the military to fix them was outrageous! I don't want a murderer living in my neighborhood and close to my children, while the army gives them a gun.
You scare me and I think you need to rehabilitate yourself.
My husband is not a murderer. He's protecting you...fool! I wonder why we even protect people like you. This world needs help, no wonder the enemy has no respect for us. Look at what we've done! We have no respect for ourselves or each other. Sad, Sad world!

however if abortion is homicide or not is an opinion. yet needless to say you're too a lot of a different-minded liberal to be certain that. i'm not very religious and that i might repeal Roe v. Wade if it ever got here up. the certainty of the undertaking is that religious taxpayers should not be compelled to fund agencies with which they disagree including planned Parenthood. As for marijuana and gay marriage, the occasion will quickly evolve on those subject concerns, maximum probable liberalizing their positions in the arrival years because of the fact the voters shifts out of their choose. Plus, Obama's staunch opposition to the legalization of hashish turns into greater obvious with each and every passing 2d. he's a ******* hypocrite. And in case you think of that liberals are consistent, then you definitely must be smoking weed, because of the fact claiming to be for freedom, then imposing widely used well being care, public guidance, and entitlement classes like SS and Medicare isn't freedom. Conservatives desire greater funds on your pocket so as which you ought to purchase those issues for your self. And by way of ways, in case you have a lot of a undertaking with the conservative social positions, why do not you in basic terms grow to be a libertarian? we are the only real consistent ones.

The hole is 6 ft deep, the casket and vault are 2ft high, there-fore, you are only 4 feet under ground. and the cell phone may work. try it in a cave, and let me know. 555-2121

The depth of 6 feet was settled on by Henry VIII, who stood at about that height, during an outbreak of the plague.
I suspect Henry did not consider how cell phones would be affected.
