No.
1. English is the one and only official language of the United States, the main country in which this is an issue.
2. We live in English speaking country and should not be compelled to learn a second language that is not a national language.
3. One official language is less confusing for the country, the citizens, and the visitors. It also eliminates separatists, and fighting and enmity within a country.
That being said, every person should want to learn a second language, because it would develop their character, and enrich their lives. However the question "SHOULD we learn Spanish?" implies the compelling of people to learn Spanish, and therefore the implementing of a second national language.

Yes. The U.S. is one of the luckiest countries in the world, but I believe our education is lacking. Most of us born here probably only know English. I heard stories of immigrants who were thinking of sending there children back to their own countries to learn their native language and to go to school there because the education level sometimes is higher and because they can't compete. Learning a language should be done early so that a child can get used to it. Learning to speak a different language is easier when you are young, and you are setting up yourself to be able to learn other languages and skills as well. The more you know the more you will grow.
So 1:
Spanish is big in the U.S. I am starting to see more and more Spanish translations next to English instructions, ads, etc. Spanish is almost everywhere.
2:
Spanish is one of the Romantic languages. Once you know one Romantic language, it is easier to learn the other ones. What a great way to meet new people and to improve and expand your knowledge.
3:
Marketable:My mother was required to learn Spanish, English, her dialect, and the national language when she was in high school. Imagine if you have 2 similarly skilled people bidding for a job. One only knows English and one knows many different languages to include Spanish and English. Who do you think the company is going to see as an important asset? Someone who took the initiate to learn more than one language, or someone who only speaks English? It is easier and cheaper for companies to contract work out rather than pay Americans because foreigners tend to work for less pay and are sometimes more qualified to boot.
P.S. Also in case you were wondering, the U.S. does not have an official language!

I think it is ridiculous, half of everything is in Spanish now anyway.
I think if you go to a country you should learn the language, as a courtesy if you are visting and mandatory if you are going to live and work there.

Yes, they should. 1) increases job opportunities, since there are many jobs requiring or preferring bi-lingual people, 2) learning a language enriches one's brainpowers, 3) then you know if Spanish people are talking about you.
