I don't know...last time I used a mac it was on os 9, and I wasn't terribly impressed. But I admit that I was expecting to be instantly wowed, and I didn't even take time to learn the system.
I go to school for computers, and I know a little about operating systems. OS X is basically Unix that has been modified for the personal computer (almost said pc lol).
Unix has a very strict permissions structure when it comes to the file system. Especially protected is the root directory, because a lot of damage can be caused there. Most users can't even look in parts of the root directory.
Because of this organizational structure the OS is inherently much more secure because the user generally doesn't have root privileges, and the vulnerable system files contained in the root directory.
A tip for windows users to greatly enhance security is never log on using your administrative account unless you are actually administrating your computer. Be sure your account and the administrative account have different passwords also. This works because when you have a limited account, and somebody tries to attack your computer while you are logged on as that account, they really don't have near as much power to mess things up as they would if they had access to the administrative account.
OK...lol got side-tracked. Your question is like asking who makes a better car? BMW or Audi...it all depends on your preference!

There is no such thing as a perfect computer...
Mac and PC both have their advantages and disadvantages.
Mac is more for the creative people (video, music etc)
PC is more for business and gaming

this is a redundant question ;)
the reason why Macintosh says their product is amazing, is because they suck. Have you ever heard of the acronym IBM?
IBM stands for I am Better than Macintosh.
another problem with Macs are if they break, then you are screwed, and if you wish to upgrade your system or hardware you are screwed. However if you use PC, you can actually call the geek squad and they can fix it. The geek squad just loves it i am sure when a Mac user calls them up and says that their imac screen broke and it needs to be fixed, or they need 500GB's instead of just 60GB.

some of these are PPC only, but you can still run them with Rosetta. you obviously haven't looked. if you give OS X a chance just like you gave XP a chance, you'll find that its much nicer.
they are biased in the commercials, but so is ANY OTHER COMMERCIAL. they're trying to sell you a product, they aren't going to tell you how bad it is, they are going to tell you how good it is.
you also seem to have little experience with computers. a computer can make your life easier and more organized, its not just for games. if you want to play games, get yourself a game console.
