I bought this dress with no particular intention except that I liked how it looked on me..

but I can't seem to think of a use for it.
Upcoming events: prom, graduation (not graduating, but I go anyway because I'm in the band.. we can wear spring dresses) homecoming (next year), etc.
what would be a good event to wear it in? Is it too casual for prom? too fancy for every day?

That dress is so cute! You can definately wear it for everyday. And I like the shoes too.

Looks more like a cute everyday dress to me. Way to casual for prom. Maybe wear a little short sleeve jacket with it for graduation.

thats 2 casual 4 prom but u could wear it 2 graduation. its really cute

I'd say it's too casual for Prom, but may be right for the graduation. A little too dressy for everyday, in my opinion.
It's ok to buy stuff without a purpose in mind. Especially if it's something that makes you feel good about yourself. :)

It's okay for every day. Maybe wear it to a lunch with friends or to a casual dance like Tolo.
