almost got bit by one

Diamond-backed Watersnakes are not poisonous. The only North American water snake that is poisonous is the Water Mocassin. Its still no fun to get bit, even by a non-poisonous snake. I know! But, if you treat snakes with respect they will leave you alone. Please don't kill them.

diamondback water snake is nonvenomous but they extremely aggressive.Not only can they be aggressive,but they have very powerful musk glands near the cloaca.They trash the tail and flig musk all over the place.The musk can stay for a long time.

yes they are very venomous.
