i have asked a couple of times previously which is better,360 or ps3?and i have recieved sooooo many different opinions and it came down to equally either the ps3 or 360.i have researched other questions similar to mine and everyone has a different opinion but it comes down to 50% 360 or 50%ps3. so i decided to rent both consoles from a local video store with call of duty 3 for both consoles and oblivion elder scrolls for both consoles and hooked up either console to my hdtv lcd tv.VERDICT:hands down to the 360 and reason being
1) graphics are crisper and sharper than the ps3.
2)game load times are faster on the 360
3)images are much clearer on the 360
4)360 has triple core processor at each running 3.2 ghz than the ps3 single cell 3.2 ghz.
5)price is a lot cheaper on the 360 and a huge list of games out already.
!!!so there you have it.i did the research,invested $75.00 and the 360 blows away the ps3.so ANYONE who says ps3 is better,they are 100% wrong.I PROVED IT.

I have a PS3 and love it.
However in the end it comes down to the games. PS 1 and PS2 have always had tons of games I have loved. Based on the past two I went ahead and got a PS3. If PS3 does get anything I want then oh well, no big loss for me. $600 is alot but it's not life ending. I also have a really good computer and most Xbox games come out on PC after awhile so I will be able to play those too. I just got Jade Empire for PC and love it.
Don't have any PS3 games right now. I beat the one I had and sold it. Waiting for a couple games to come out.
Bottom line: who cares about tech specs? I got my system to play games and movies. It does both of those . Im happy. If your happy with your 360 then good for you. Why people feel the need to bash or defend multi-billion dollor corparations is beyond me.

I would have to disagree with #4. The PS3 has 7 cores and is 1 GFLOPS faster than the Xbox 360. You can have multiple cores, even though there is one physical chip. You have to look at the SPE's.
Also, the Xbox 360 doesn't have a digital-out port like a DVI or HDMI and the PS3 does. This affects image quality tremendously.
As far which one is better, it's a toss up. I am just pointing out there are fallacies in your argument. It's more accurate to judge a gaming console shootout on the games, rather than the engines. Different architecture and you can't really compare it fairly. That is why the Wii has outsold the other two game systems. I think that is more proof than comparing specs.
If you do decide to buy the Xbox 360, I would wait until Xbox 360 2.0, which will come with an HDMI port. While no dates have come out, my guess would be Christmas time.

360 is amazing, plus the modding community is waaay larger in microsoft's xbox series than sony's ps3 which allows you to get a lot more outa your xbox. have fun! some games i reccomdend are halo3 when it comes out, halo2 if u dont already got it. definetly get xbox live gold its amazing. and way better then ps3 online ability. other games... gears of war and oblivion. if you ever end up getting xbox live (which i highly reccomend) my gamertag is F1FAd 360.
plus if you buy the premium xbox 360 package u get some free xbox live trials. u can download tons of demos, games, movies, and cool stuff on xbox live. u can rent movies too so u dont have to go to the blockbuster lol the download time for the movies is only like 30 minuits too its awesome. have fun

Well, i went and bought a 360 because a. its a happy medium in price and there is stable xbox live but also for its ability to upgrade i.e. When the above mentioned(SP) Xbox elite comes out i can just buy the new hdd and it has been confirmd that the elite exists it is only (rumor) hdmi and internal wifi (Have external) i can always get gamer grafix to turn it black so that and (Halo3, Kotor3, jade2 ect...)so yeah

in the journey that your going for gentle gaming, like i did, then yeah the arcade is nice. yet once you elect to be waiting to acquire music and play widely used xbox video games on the 360 you like the elite. it comes with a hardrive on an identical time as the arcade does not. yet once you like it in basic terms for the video games, then yeah pickup the arcade.
