Nigel, this is one of those questions where people would like to think they know how they will react but once you are standing there it might be a different situation. I hope I would stop at the point where I would have to kill another person but that might not be true. you know the phrase "kill or be killed" I guess I would cooperate until my breaking point was reached. This question is hard to answer - thanks for making me think. I don't think I can answer it right though good luck -k-

Since i'm still a teenager and can't really over-power a man, nothing. But if I was in my twenties, i'd do something. I plan on being a U.S Marine, and who do you think will win in a fight regardless of odds a criminal or a United States Marine?
The Marine obviously, I'd be damned if a pety criminal would put a gun to my head. It might be a little harder if it was two men with a gun each. It also depends on the size of the man. I'm currenty 5"9 (hopefully i'll grow) if I'm still that height in my twenties and the man that has the gun is atleast 6"0 and pretty muscular it might be a tough fight.

properly I went out with the adult males eating each and all of the time and would not want my female chum going and married acquaintances got here on my own too. it truly relies upon on the guy and that i'm in simple terms gonna say it how that's multiple adult males are cheating or doing something you won't like as we will as woman too so do be conscious.. That being reported I in all likelihood went out one hundred cases on my own by no ability cheated as quickly as yet I had the probabilities in simple terms became it down. have faith is important i'd commerce a trusting couple over in simple terms there love

Twenty years ago they would've chosen the wrong guy. I didn't feel like I had a whole lot to live for and probably would've tried to take out the assailant with me (as long as my own death - not gross but nonfatal disfigurement as the most likely outcome).
Today I want to see my daughter grow up. About the only thing I wouldn't do to preserve my life is jeopardize the life of my wife and / or daughter.
Wow... That's not very flattering, but honest.

I agree with the SFE guy. Unless he didn't try to hurt someone else, I would do about everything he said, unfortunately. But being the sly (and physically built) cat I am, I would look for the right moment to grab him and throttle him.
Yeah, I know it's unfortunate, and although I'm a very peaceful person, I wouldn't hesitate in such a situation to subdue or do worse to someone.
Hey, either it's me (and/or someone else) or them.

I think most people's survival instinct would entirely take over. See the Saw films and you'll understand. For instance if you had to get a key out from behind your own eye to save yourself dying a gruesome death, I'm quite sure almost anyone would cut their eye open to do so.

Not as far as taking someone else's life. And I don't think I'd go as far as those folks in the Saw movies to stay alive either. Just get it over with and kill me.

It is quite difficult to answer this question accurately, because we do not know for sure how we would react unless we were genuinely placed in this predicament. However, the majority of humans have a very strong survival instinct. So I am sure that most people would do whatever it takes to survive.

I would do anything it takes to stay alive... It is human instinct to preserve our own lives. The only thing I wouldn't do is kill someone else under the instruction of my captor... I would kill someone in self defence though, definately.

Not as far as i would go to save the life of someone i loved.
i'd do what the guy said as long as he did not ask me to do something that i truly did not want to do.
