Oh, I've been there. Emotional abuse is sometimes worse than physical. Most of the time, physical wounds heal. Emotional abuse can leave HEAVY scars that take years and years to get over. It can seriously mess with your self esteem. Get rid of him now.

Just emotional abuse? Hell, if you are feeling worthless, then remove the emotional part and you are left with abuse. You are a victim of abuse....no kind of abuse is worse than another kind. Abuse of any kind attacks your very soul....it makes you feel like a piece of shite. It makes you feel like you dont deserve to be on this earth. Get him removed as quickly as possible, but may I suggest abuse of any kind takes it toll, it really does, and removing him will only fix it for a time. There is a lot of healing that needs to be done for you to come out of this a whole person. At the moment you wouldnt even be feeling like a quarter of a person...probably, more like a dog who deserved to be kicked and bullied.
Ring up your local domestic violence shelter and talk to a counsellor.....they dont just deal with physical violence....they are qualified in all kinds of abuse and they will tell you what I am telling you here. You are a victim of abuse....you need some help and you need good solid support. Make that call and allow the damage this man has done to you, to heal.
With professional help, you can come out of this a whole person, but you need the help...you cant do it on your own...too much damage has been caused.
Take care...you are going to need all the love and support to get over this thing.

Its not "just" emotional abuse.... every time you hear about a mild mannered dentist who gets run over with a car by his wife or other crazy story and they are interviewing the neighbors saying how pleasant everyone appeared...you can bet it was emotional abuse....trust your instincts and your good sense while you still have them....these things get so tangled up people lose all good judgement.... protect yourself before you end up in the hospital, or worse.

Yes, I think emotional abuse is valid grounds to end a relationship. Physical abuse is a given. If you want help having him removed legally, call your local police department if he won't leave after you ask him to leave. If he's physically abusing you or already has or is threatening physical violence...don't confront him, call the police let them handle it...good luck!

Life is too short to live with any kind of abuse.
If you want to stop being a doormat, get up off the floor.

Abuse is still abuse and no one should have to stand for it. Kick him to the curb.
