I usually take about 1 and a half to two hours to read 30 pages while highlighting at the same time. Is that too slow? Any suggestions to speed up my reading while fully or almost fully understanding the material?

I like to browse through the pages until I find something interesting. If its good, I'll read the info just before it to get a better idea. Just keep track of what you've read and take breaks often.

If I don't have time to browse, I'll read until my mind starts to wander. I'll use a pencil to mark which page and sentence I last clearly remembered reading.

I use Japanese created software that is really the best speed reading system I've ever seen. It works. Just after a few exercises you will read 100 words more in a minute. A software at my college is not as good as EyeQ.

wow you are quite fast. i am taking AP european history right now.. and for 30-40 page chapters, it takes me about 5-8 hours to read all, so i must read little bit everyday, and when i cram, i am screwed. i highlight andmake notes and do my terms while i am reading so yeah. however, whatever helps you comprehend and consume all the information is a good time to read.

1-2 min per page is reasonable...as long as you are remembering what you read you are fine.
