O.K. It is called a BIBLIOGRAPHY
Now some IMPORTANT and FRIGHTENING stuff.

You go to college, university. You read a book/find stuff on the Internet etc.. You do an assignment. You write down some-thing you read in the book/found on the Internet. You do NOT include a Bibliography. You hope the person who marks your work will think you are clever.
RESULT - you get thrown out. All those school etc years wasted.
WHY? People who mark work (1) know a lot of stuff, have read books, looked up more stuff on the Internet than days you've had alive. (2) Know what is your work and what isn't. (3) are like God in that they know every-thing about you.

These educators want you to learn, read stuff etc; but NOT to lie.
So you include the things you read / found out BUT you say the person's name, the Internet site etc.
At the END you write a BIBLIOGRAPHY.
A Bibliography is a list of all the books you read; the Internet sites you visited etc. Plus it gives DETAILS such as book writer, year published; Internet site address, writers if mentioned (Look hard)

If you do NOT do a bibliography - this could easily happen.
The marker writes some of your words on the Net. The original writer finds out you wrote them and did NOT write a Bibliography.
They find you
AND they find a good lawyer.
They sue you 1 to 10 million dollars.
They win.
You spend the rest of your life paying the debt - no parties, no drugs, no alcohol, no fun, no girls/boys, NO FUN, just TOTAL POVERTY for the rest of your life.
Get into the habit of writing Bibliographies NOW before it is too late. Give credit to the ideas of others.
You have been WARNED
Source(s):
Many newspaper reports of writers who win HUGE amounts of dollars (e.g. 10 million $s ) from ordinary people from newspaper reports/T.V. etc.
GOOD on you. I gave this answer to a twit who din't know it was IMPORTANT.
At least you know to include one.
Practise doing bibliographies BUT rememebr you HAVE to make notes BEFORE about where you got the information.
GOOD LUCK.

I think you are talking about writing the information about the sources you use in your book, and this is called a Bibliography.
