i'd cross off phoenix right off.
I think I would cross off Boston too, even though I like it.
I would choose between Sand Diego and Fort Collins. It's much more expensive to live in San Diego, but I would do a lot of research on both of those before deciding.
Actulaly, a lot of online research on all four places wouldn't be a bad idea, then you can learn about each of them and make an informed decision.

san diego...no question....specifically rancho bernado or Poway,if you get on the other side of Black mountian you will gain 10 degrees in temp. It is wonderful there.
