The number is simply how many inches it is aroudn their chest (chest not breasts). The letter symbolizes the size of the cups, the bigger the breasts the bigger cups you need. B-C is typical, despite what you see on TV.

The Number is the adjusted measurement, that makes up the bra band size.

The Letter, is a conversion of the difference between the bust and band to figure out how large the breasts are.

It goes basically 1 inch per letter (but some like the DD is actually E, where as AA is like .5 inch) for the Cup size bigger than the band size.

I'm a guy and know the answer to that, the letter is the cup size and the # is the inches around the chest. A= tiny D & E =huge

The letter is just a catagory. AA is smallest. The number stands for inches around the bust.
