Easy chemistry question about liquids?

a. Explain why liquids in a test tube form a meniscus
b. compare vaporization and evaporation

(a) surface tension
(b) aren't they the same thing? I guess evaporation tends to assume the top part of a liquid becoming a gas at below the liquid's boiling point and vaporization might be a general term for anything becoming a gas at any point. Check your textbooks definition.
