Does a seller have to use an escrow account when selling on yahoo?

Yahoo! Auctions does not require you to use an escrow account. It is advisable when buying or selling more expensive things (jewelry, electronics, cars, etc) to use a reputable escrow company for the transaction; however, that's up to the buyer and/or seller to decide.

I don't know how you sell on Yahoo. If you try to do it here, under answers, it would be considered as spam and you would get reported as fraud.
