One of these days, scientists will understand the true meaning of dreams, and I'm sure they hold some great significance in how our minds function when we're awake.
I tend to remember bad dreams more than good ones, I can't remember a single good dream I've had lately. I also believe that the kinds of dreams we have are affected by our daily experiences--
whether they're good or bad, and by how much stress we are experiencing in our lives at any given time.
If you're having pleasant dreams, then you are probably in a good place in your life. If you have a dream catcher in your house and you believe in it, then you have given it power over your dreams.
Do you have it over your bed? If you're interested in testing it, take it down for a couple of nights and see what kind of dreams you have.

The Indian dream catcher thing shouldn't really make a difference. The only thing I can see is that you might feel more comfortable because of the way he talked to you or what he did; it gave you greater confidence.
People actually do remember bad dreams in addition to good dreams. It is human nature however to mentally "push back" bad dreams, to basically try to forget about them, you know, cover them with a good dream instead.
Eventually, suppressed dreams are forgotten altogether.
Hope this helps!

My last dream was of me trying to help a girl but every time I helped her she would leave then get into more trouble and i had to help her again and again.
I have a friend that I am worried about because she does get into bad situations alot, so I know where the dream came from.
I would say that dreams tend to be images related to things that your mind is focused on at the time. I don't remember having a nightmare in a very long time. Most of my dreams now are based on things in my life.
In the case of the girl it almost seemed like my mind was running though every possible way she might get into trouble. Almost like I was practicing how to help her for when she gets into trouble in real life.

You may have mastered the art of "lucid dreaming," which allows your sleeping mind to control the outcome of your dreams as if you were directing them, almost as if you were awake in a fantasy world.
That's the only thing I can think of. I've had good and "bad" dreams and remember the best and worst equally. I've also had lucid dreams in which I stopped the action, rewound and changed the ending to my liking. This is supposed to be good for you (check out source below).
I have a good percentage of Indian in me too, and have heard of "dream catchers" but have never used one.
One thing I have learned in life is that almost anything can work if you believe in it strongly enough. That's what makes all cultures so cohesive. May your luck continue as you keep on dreaming...

Dreams are manifestations of our cognizant
thoughts, deeper and reaching beyond the
surface we have a greater consciousness.
Part of the reason we have bad dreams is
because we suppress emotions like fear or
lack an outlet to properly resolve our negative
emotions, then we see them come out in
our dreams.
Most people don't have nightmares and bad
dreams on any routine basis, however, we
have many dreams that we do not remember
or are not in our waking conscience, some of
these could be bad. It also explains dejavu in
certain cases.
Good luck to you.

I always thought it was the other way around. I'm the complete opposite of you. I always remember my nightmares instead of the good dreams. Dreams are supposed to let you know how you're doing in your waking life.. so maybe you're doing alright in life and just are happy!
