Why does a pothos plant share the same name as a Greek god of sexual longing? Is there any lore behind this? Any help would be appreciated, I am helping with a science project and botany was never my strong suit. Thanks in advance.

Just a guess, but it's an ivy, so maybe it was named because it climbs, stretches out, and reaches like someone who really wants physical love. If you can't find anything on it and you have to make a guess like that, phrase it in the form of a question.
