Yes, there are. They usually pay about $1-5 a survey (occassionally 10-20, rarely more than that). I've listed and reviewed just about all the ones I've been payed through on the following page:

None of them require you to register your credit card. Some pay by check, others by paypal, and others give you points you can excange for rewards like gift cards or CDs or other stuff. Under each site review I put how they pay you (reward method) so you can see which ones send checks.

Having so many paid surveys available all the time lets you live the kind of life you want.
I travel with my family 3 or 4 months every year! While I'm on vacation, I love to take paid surveys while relaxing on the beach. I can pay for my entire stay in just a few hours of taking surveys!

Yes, I take a few surveys a week a earn some extra pocket money. Despite what they try and tell you you won't make a living off them. Check out http://freewebs.com/surveyopportunities which lists a few legit paying survey sites (free to join!) that actually pay!

There things are usually frauds. How they work is that they give the information from the survey, along with any other information to 3rd party companies. This may or may not include your credit card and/or other personal information. Their ToS's state that "we give your information to our advertisers to do as they wish". So basically you might not get screwed out of your money, but you could get tons of spam mail and email, and various other unpleasent things. In the long run, I say don't do it....
