I'm 17 and I guess i'm goin to do what most guys my age do (party, join frats etc) but I really can't wait to get married. I do intend on living the college experience but I'd rather find my sweetheart and cuddle w/ her until the stars burn out. I guess im not goin to get married b/c im so young but why do i really want to?Most of my friends want to join a fraternity, drink beligerantly, and have random sex... Obviously being a young guy comes with wanting girls...alot (lol)...but I really want to do it with someone I really love. Its not meaningful, enjoyable, or intimate if it happens after a frat party with some drunk chick.

Just to make clear...It's not like im really ugly with no friends and have no life lol. I've had my fair share of opportunities with girls. I have been heavy on the party scene. I just think my wife-to-be would appreciate it if I didn't have sex with a lot of girls before her because I know I would want my future wife to limit her pre-marital experience.

Because you are a "romantic." Because you believe in love and monogamy and are mentally and emotionally on a higher plane than most guys your age. I find the words in the question that you have asked to be very beautiful...full of unaffected innocence that is very rare to find in most guys your age. See, all men who get married eventually feel the way you do. They want to settle down with that one special woman. This usually occurs after college...after they have "sowed their oats" so to speak. You have just reached that level a little quicker, but if I can offer you a piece of advice, enjoy your youth and being single. When you go off to college, date different girls until you find your special one and then you can put those lovely idealistic beliefs of yours into play and make some girl out there a very lucky lady!

I say that you need to refrain from sex until you are married. You can enjoy college and have a lot of fun without sex for now. If a lot of boys thought that way there would be a lot less children being born without live in father and mother.

You're sounding desperate. Try getting to know yourself and enjoy yourself. Realize that your self-worth doesn't depend on another human being. Then you will not feel the need to commit the rest of your life to another just yet. There's so much more for you to experience.

It may not be that you want to get married per say, but you want to find the one you're supposed to be with. I think that's very noble of you to control yourself and not sleep with anything that's willing. You're wife will greatly appreciate it!!!

It's called being in love, that is why you just like being around her. When one is in love the real love not the one everyone seems to throw around. You like being with the person. Just talking to them makes you happy. I wish you and your bride to be the best. May she love you as much as you her.

You will get over it in time. Just remember that the grass is not always greener. Most of the time it is dead and brown. Enjoy the freedom that you have.

I guess it's because you're looking for security, commitment and the idea of always having someone you trust by your side.
