YES! Those poor girls never get a chance to feel that they have value merely for being themselves. They are always in competition. This teaches them that being on top of everyone else is the only option. Being second best is as bad as being last.

No one can win every time. To be normal and healthy, a person must be able to lose.

Their parents are teaching them that their love is conditional, based on the ratings of strangers.

Absolutely look at poor Jon Boneit.I don't think parents should allow or enter their young boys or girls in pageants as it puts them in danger and exposes them to unnecessary attention from predators.

Yes, most of the times. But doing it for fun is ok as long as its for the kids. When the parents get too involved its disaster.
