Canada - Kanota

Canada was officially got the name in 1791. The named Canada was introduced by the natives. They used the name Kanota (Meaning Village or settlement) when speaking to Explorer Jacques Cartier, while over looking their village. Cartier quickly picked up on the name Kanota and then pronouncing it as Canada. In the year 1791 officially named Canada.
This was not to be first pick of a name for Canada, as the father Of Confederation briefly considered calling it Dominion Borealia (from Latin word for North)
