Well, being a little buzzed, in and of itself, is not necessarily cause to get arrested or tossed out of anywhere. It's what you do WHILE tipsy, like driving a car - that can get you in trouble. I think if you went into a salon for a wax and behaved, you'd be just fine. If you were abusive or disorderly, they would refuse service and possibly call the cops. Me personally, I'd tell the person doing the wax that I had a drink beforehand to help numb the pain and get my nerve up. It's not a crime. It doesn't hurt that bad anyway and each subsequent time it will hurt less. If you expect to have a baby some day, a bikini wax by comparison should be no big deal... = )

Now if you were falling-down drunk, it would be irresponsible for them to perform any service on you at all.

Possibly. Why not just take some OTC pain meds before to help with that. Or if you're that worried about the pain - pick up the trusty razor. Why spend extra money on booze and risk the chance of embarrassing yourself in public?
