The last of my female kittens were spayed last month and they too swelled inder the stitched area, my long hair more the my Siamese mix. The vet had me wrap the long hair since hers was large and keep her in quiet area where she couldn't mover around too much, so I caged her. He said it was normal and can come from the animal try to jump or stretching. I was told the swelling would go down after the stitches would come out. Well about 10 days after the stitches came out, both girls swelling went down.
Now if there's any discharge, redness, warmer to touch in that area, or foul smell, get her to the vet, this may be an infection.

I would definitely call the vet.
She should not have much swelling at all. Keep a close eye on the incision site and watch for any oozing or redness.

Is she licking the stitches excessively? If so, you may want to speak to your vet about getting a cone for her head while the incision is healing. A small amount of swelling is normal. However, if there is blood, oozing, puss, or a bad smell call your vet. They'll let you know if they think it is serious enough to bring her in. Good luck!

your vet should have told you what to look for, but it there is lotof red around it there could be a problem. Is your puppy able to lick her wound? And check and feel and see if there is any heat coming from it. If your that worried in the morning take her back to the vet . Good Luck

Only a moderate amount of swelling should be there.
is it oozing? Is it unusually red?
Is she spending too much time paying attention to it?
If she is licking or chewing it go to your vet tomorrow and as for en E- Collar (elizabethan collar) so she can not have access to it.
