"The Princess Bride" .....yeah the title sounds a bit corny but its the best romance book ever!!!! Ask anyone who's read it.
Good Luck.

You probably want to go for something a bit more modern than some of the classics, which she will probably want to read when she's a little older.
The sisterhood of The Travelling Pants is a good one but my best recommendation would be Looking For Alibrandi by Australian author Melina Marchetta. It is superb and well written, mush more sophisticated that those old sweet valley highs and stuff i read when i was 12. If you get a hold of it, i guarentee you that she will love it.

I always enjoyed the Sweet Valley High novels. But they would probably be too juvenile for her.

Try some Harlequin Romance novels--not any of their steamier series, but just the plain romance novels. It should be enough for her.

Any books by Nicholas Sparks. He is an amazing writer. Most of his stories are sad, but all of them are romantic.
And I also agree with Gretchen. The sisterhood of the travelling pants are very good also.

the "gossip girl" and "it girl" series are very good and touch on teen romance(unless you are very well-off in which case it just seems annoying)
