But cliches BECOME cliches because they are so true for many people!
Any of the good life philosophies have become so well used that they are now thought of as cliches...
Treat others as you would want to be treated yourself.
Live for today, as tomorrow you may die.
When life throws you lemons, learn to make lemonaide.
But here is one philosophy that makes a very good plan to live by. It was sent to me in an email, and the author is anonymous....
As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let you down probably will.
You will have your heart broken probably more than once and it's harder every time.
You'll break hearts too, so remember how it felt when yours was broken.
You'll fight with your best friend. You'll blame a new love for things an old one did.
You'll cry because time is passing too fast, and you'll eventually lose someone you love.
So take too many pictures, laugh too much, and love like you've never been hurt
because every sixty seconds you spend upset is a minute of happiness you'll never get back.
Don't be afraid that your life will end, be afraid that it will never begin.

No one should "give" you a philosophy to live by...you should work out what that is for yourself...something that works best for you in your life. Borrowing someone else's philosophy to live by pretty much misses the whole point!

The truth is contextually invariant. The only "philosophy" to live by is pragmatism. You must convince yourself that what's most practical is true and NOT seek philosophic truth. You cannot ever reach philosophic truth. You will die trying. There is no philosophy of life.

Any day you wake up in a warm, dry bed and have coffee money in pocket is a good start. If you are going to bed in the same warm, dry spot with a full belly, and coffee money for the next day, you will be fine. The rest is all filler in between. A good bed and full belly are the essentials

Cliche - only become cliche because they are long-term truths that lose their meanings because of overuse I believe.
The philosophy to live by that is most helpful to me is:
"Live and Let Live". Which to me means not only mind your own business, but actively take part in each and every moment of your life.

No. Many things have been lived before us, and most all of the best advice, is now a cliche of some form or another. Accept it, good advice is good advice, no matter whether or not someone has said it before or not.

If your not happy doing what your doing, do something else. But keep the future in mind. I know that might sound confusing but that's what I live by.

If there were in the world today any large number of people who desired their own happiness more than they desired the unhappiness of others, we could have paradise in a few years.

Love.
Love yourself, others & the world. That is the key to happiness. Without love there can be no happiness.

sounds like your 'philosophy to live by' statement without sounding like a cliche is:
'would you like fries with that?'
