Make the names fit who the characters are. Spend some time figuring out what kind of people they are, and what kind of community they are a part of. Where do they live? What are their family's cultures? What are their personalities like? Then, take a browse through an online directory of baby names until something catches your eye. Here's two to start with:

There are also some great internet name generators, which can be helpful if you are looking for more unusual names or writing fantasy. Here's one that I like:

It depends on the type of story... futuristic/dark/angsty - Xander and Trinity
Romance - Claudia and Gregory
Comedy - Helen and Frank

It also depends on the characters' personalities...if its a shy person, you don't want a boisterous name like Dominique, but something more like Amanda. So, you really should evaluate your characters, and decide where they ware going in the story and such. Or, what else is cool is to plan their personalities, and sum them up in one word...then look up that word in Latin or some other language and make a name from that.

A little more info on your characters would be helpful on this question.

Try not to name your characters "just to name them." Before naming a character you should already know everything about the character (i.e. personality, how they move, talk, etc.) and then choose a name fitting for the character.

There are some good name sites, though.
My favorite, personally, is behindthename.com
