Why Has Rap Been So Awful Since Tupac And Biggie Died?

Seriously, look at the garbage that passes as hip hop today, shake that laffy, i wanna f*ck you, ill take you to the candy shop, smack that a*s...wtf? It takes no lyrical talent whatsoever. Then look back when Tupac and Biggie were alive. Sure they could be generic at times but they were damn good lyricists always. The only rapper still good now is nas, and even he isn't nearly as good as he was ten years ago. Wtf?

mainstream rap has pretty much started to completly decay at around 2000, after pun died in 2004 there were basically no mainstream artist left besides nas and em(the re up was full of ****, but em still got some left in him) who were at the scene at the time who could claim to have skill on the mic. Underground is still good, but its sad now if you want good hip hop you gotta look for it, it dont coem to you like it used to, plus underground rappers names in bobs opinion are pretty damn ****** up. Since around 1996 hip hop started taking some pretty damn hard hits, 1996 tupac dies, 1997 notorious big dies, 1999 big l dies, 2002 mobb deeps changes their style and goes sell out, also in 2002 jam master day dies, 2004 big pun dies, all the while those southern bastard and non talented lyrically retarded bastards from whereever they came from take over the mainstream hip hop scene. Hip hops is in the hospital in a vegitated state, one way or another hip hop may just go underground completly.

However 2007 might be the year REAL hip hop comes back out of the vegitated state in the summer the purple tape banger 2 comes out and if its anything like the original its gonna be some clasic **** plus 8 diagrams comes out in the summer as well and like RZA said "How can hip hop be dead if Wu Tangs forever?" We wont have dirty bastard to be the first man arrested in california for wearing a bullet proof vest while in probation, but the wu tang has never dropped crap before we just gottta cross our fingers. If anybody can bring hip hop back, wu tang can.

Because you're not looking below the surface. There has been plenty of great rap albums released in the underground. Check out Binary Star-Masters Of The Universe, IMO only second to Illmatic. The stuff on the radio makes me laugh, I don't take it seriously and I don't consider it music, let alone rap. So I'd say rap is doing pretty good.

i do no longer think of it has thoroughly sucked. there have been some good rappers for the reason that then, in spite of the indisputable fact that none of them have come close to to touching Tupac. I nonetheless savor the rhymes, yet I do pass over him. Soulja boy does suck, I agree.

Tupac was good though...I've never heard Notorious, that is who your talking about. So much respect goes to them...I haven't really heard anything on them so everything I just said about girls and all that jazz isn't refering to them.

rap hasn't been able to find that big seller that can sell out concerts in seconds. 2pac and big did alot for the rap game itself and rap will never ever be able to find artists like them again
