It is British Columbia not Birtish Columbia. I have lived here for 33 years I should know.

I live in Vancouver. It takes 3 hours, a bit less if you are a lifelong citizen of Canada or the USA. It is 226 km. If you are from somewhere else, expect questioning and annoyingness. They don't seem to take too kindly to Africans, and make them come inside the building (at least going into the US from Canada)

As someone who frequently drives this, if you are driving, to allow a minimum of three hours, then if it takes less time, enjoy a coffee!

If you expect to travel in the Seattle area or the Vancouver area during peak traffic times, or cross the border during a peak season or peak times, then you will want to allow more time.

It takes about 2hr and 45min without traffic and the border! With it I would expect around 31/2 hr.
