So I traded my 1080 p cable for a 1080 i cable.Reason I did it is because the 1080 i.The cable I recieved has a wire for both the PS2/PS,Xbox and the Xbox 360.He said that he needed the 1080 p cable because with,he could take the 360 to it's full potential since he has a flat screen TV and I only have a 720.Is the visual difference much and do you think I came out the winner in the trade?

There is no such thing as a 1080i and a 1080p cable. There are component, DVI, and HDMI cables, which are capable of displaying up to 1080p, which would include 1080i.

Just out of curiosity, but did you get the core 360 and not the premium 360?

I think you got duped. My guess is that you probably got the losing end of the deal because the cable that you traded in for most likely came with the premium 360. The cable that you traded away probably cost you some money to buy it, right? I think he basically traded you a free cable for a cable that costs money.

Just because he said he has a flat screen TV doesn't mean that he has a 1080p TV. He could very well have a 480i standard TV. Flat screen TVs could mean anything unless you say whether it's standard, enhanced, 720p, or 1080p.

Just for you information, 1080p is the best definition that you can currently get. The p means progressive, which means all the vertical lines are displayed simutaneously. The i means interlaced, so the vertical lines are displayed alternatively, think of it as odd lines are displayed, then even lines are displayed.

1080p is better quality than 1080i as the image is created in one scan of the screen instead of 2 so the screen is updated more smoothly, basicly with a realy big screen you will see the difference...1080i has a slight blurr to it compared to 1080p but if you only have a 720(p or i) it doesnt make any difference realy, the difference between 720 ans 1080 is huge though (provided you have a decent screen) as there is a higher resolution so you see the full image in all its graphical supremacy :P

(PS...tell ya friend that a flat screen TV doent mean that he has 1080p...a 1080p tv costs a damn fortune as that is true full high definition)
